Where to Stay in Grenada

WHERE TO STAY IN GRENADA (1)

I have talked about my love for the island of Grenada a few times on the blog now. This is paradise on earth.

My post Great Eats in Grenada has been one of my most popular posts, with Things to Do in Grenada catching up quickly. Therefore, I thought it was time to share my thoughts on where to stay on this magnificent island.

I admit I almost always stay with my in-laws, but if they ever needed a break from me, you’d be able to find me at one of these exceptional island resorts. I’ve been to each one, so take my advice…

Here are my top five resorts in Grenada:

Laluna-10

Laluna Resort

Laluna is truly a private paradise. Situated on a secluded beach, it it the ultimate destination for lovebirds who desire a intimate and luxurious getaway. There are sixteen cottages on the manicured grounds, each with a private plunge pool and king-sized bed. However, villas for groups and families are also available. Complimentary yoga is offered daily, and the dining might possibly be the best on the island. Laluna is truly one of a kind. Molto Bello!

calabash

Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa

The Calabash is comprised of 30 suites and is situated on eight-acres of tropical gardens kept in pristine condition. The staff pride themselves on service and building relationships that will keep their guests returning to the Calabash for many years to come. I’ve seen this first hand as the groundskeepers find and deliver the ground’s fresh fruit/veg to  visitor year after year. The resort boasts a spa, as well as two great restaurants; The Beach Club (“the Bash“) and Rhodes Restaurant, and is truly a special place.

Spice Island Beach Resort

Spice Island is a luxury vacationers dream. Located steps away from the famous Grand Anse beach, Spice Island offers guests a sprawling eight-acre property with beautiful suites that include beachfront or pool suites – some with private swimming pool included. Run by the Hopkin family, the resort dedicates itself to ensuring guests feel more like family by the end of their stay. This is real luxury in the heart of Grenada.

Petite Anse Hotel

Petite Anse is located on the north side of the island, offering guests a tranquil location for a intimate and peaceful vacation.  Philip and Annie who run the resort, are a lively couple who have cultivated the ultimate R&R retreat with great staff, delicious food, and an experience that truly caters to guest desires. If  “off the beaten path” is the type of vacation spot that interests you, Petite Anse is the place to be. The view of the Atlantic ocean from their patio is breathtaking.

Sandals LaSource Grenada

Almost everyone who vacations from North America is familiar with the Sandals brand. Sandals LaSource is located on the exclusive Pink Gin Beach and offers guests the ultimate all-inclusive experience. The resort boasts ten restaurants, an exclusive spa, beautiful pools, nightly entertainment, and unlimited scuba diving and water-sports included with your stay. If you’re looking for a vacation spot that checks all the boxes, this might just be it. And talk about maximizing your time from the airport? This is the one.

Wait!  I can’t talk about Grenadian resorts without at least mentioning the famous Calivigny Island which goes for between $30,000- $45,000 USD/ night. If you’re looking for the ultimate private island vacation destination, this is it!

To review – Grenada is one of my favourite places on Earth. If you haven’t been, let me be the first to suggest you do so before this hidden gem is further uncovered. If you have been, consider trying out a few of my suggestions – you won’t be unhappy with any of them. None of these resorts paid me for the article, it’s an honest reflection of places that I’ve been and think you would enjoy.

Have you ever been to the island of Grenada? Where did you stay?

Any questions? If you’re travelling and would like my advice, feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to help.
